With three retail shops in Wichita, there's every reason to visit one while here. Artisan chocolates, custom coffee beverages, gelato and a welcoming environment, everyone can find something to enjoy here. I'll stop in with friends after dinner for a chocolate and conversation. They have a great patio at their New Market location that's pleasant in the evenings while enjoying your gelato.
Here's what they say about themselves: "Eighth Day Books has specialized in classic books across the disciplines of art, science, and the humanities since 1988, when we first opened our store in Wichita, Kansas."
Here's what Jeanette says about Eighth Day Books: "This is an incredible book store. New, used, ecumenical and welcoming, the employees are very knowledgeable about a variety of fiction and non-fiction genres. The store is located in a house in the design district of Wichita, near other unique and cool stores. You can grab a book off a shelf and settle in to read for a while. I especially like browsing the Tolkien and Lewis section of the shop."
Watermark Books is located about 5 miles from Newman and not far from Eighth Day Books. This is our local independent book seller Along with books, they have a great cafe where you can get breakfast or lunch while you browse for new books. They also sell lots of novelty and gift items and is one of my go-to shopping places when buying gifts for friends and family!
Here's what their website says:
"From the colorful storefronts to the scenic open-air Plaza and lakeside view, you’ll discover more of what you want at Bradley Fair. An appealing blend of stores and restaurants offer a unique shopping, dining and
entertainment experience."
They have a summer concert series that is a great experience and lots of fun. Thursday evenings have the live music, but the performance schedule isn't available quite yet, but you can check here if interested. Of course, we'll have live music at our closing event that same evening.
Bradley Fair is filled with high-end vendors and familiar retail spaces, including Cocoa Dolce and our local Barnes & Noble store.
New Market Square is located in the NW section of Wichita. A fairly recent development area, there are new retail shops and restaurants opening up all the time. The development extends nearly two miles along Maize Road, on both sides of the streets. Check their website for a full list of shops and restaurants. Many businesses we've highlighted have locations here.
